In programming, a framework is a pre-built set of tools, libraries, and guidelines that provide reusable components to help developers build applications more efficiently and quickly. A framework provides a foundation for building software by abstracting away common functionality, allowing programmers to focus on application-specific logic rather than “reinventing the wheel” daily.

Frameworks bring functionality already determined to speed up the process and prevent developers from having to rewrite these functions frequently. They are tools that establish an intermediary between the programmer and the code of an application, as a kind of communication interface. Thus, they automate some questions, leaving the heavy work more abstract and hidden for people in the area.


WHAT ARE THE MOST USED FRAMEWORKS?

The most used frameworks in programming vary depending on the programming language and the specific domain of the application and its specialty, such as front-end, back-end or mobile.

However, here we made a list of the most used frameworks in different programming languages. Here they are:


FRAMEWORK FOR JAVASCRIPT

ReactJS: A popular framework for creating user interfaces for web and front-end applications. It's Facebook´s framework and it was created to overcome the challenges of a single- page app (SPA). A SPA is a page that has independent elements, one of which can be reloaded while the others remain static. React made development easier, but went further, because it modernized JavaScript syntax and allowed virtual DOM (Website Tag Hierarchy) manipulation for faster interfaces. It's a very simple pattern to learn, with a large and helpful community.

AngularJS: It is a comprehensive framework for building large-scale web applications. It is one of the most famous front-end frameworks and a direct competitor to React. Angular is a very good option for anyone looking for a widely used standard with a huge community. It is a technology that makes development more robust and readable by bringing innovations such as Data Binding and greater test support.

Vue.js: is a progressive JavaScript framework for building user interfaces. It is a good example of a progressive framework, that is, it can be used in small parts of the system and does not lock the programmer to a single option. Vue.js has great documentation and a huge community. It also brings some elements that we already mentioned, such as data binding, virtual DOM and support for SPAs.

Express: is a back-end framework, used in addition to Node.js. It's a great option to manage back issues, such as routes, HTTP requests and APIs, in a practical and fast way.


FRAMEWORKS FOR PYTHON

Django: is a high-level web framework that follows the model view controller (MVC) architecture pattern. Django is an alternative to dealing with Python in the backend, as it allows managing microservices, manipulating databases, user authentication, RSS feed, among others. For databases in particular, Django supports several relational types, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL and SQLite .

Another highlight of Django is its focus on security and protection of websites. It works to help combat false requests, SQL injection and other common attacks on web pages. As a good standard for the backend, it allows the creation of robust and secure applications, which will not cause headaches for administrators or users.

Flask: is a lightweight web framework that offers flexibility and simplicity for building web applications. It’s on the backend of web applications and is known as a microframework, due to its simplicity and speed of operation. In addition, it is very versatile and important for small projects and for more robust applications. It must be said that Flask tries to apply the philosophy of Python, with minimalism and code cleanliness to generate more interesting results. So it is called “pythonic” and has more impressive performance.

Ruby on Rails: is a powerful and opinionated framework that emphasizes convention over configuration for web application development.

Spring: is a robust and widely used framework for building enterprise-level Java applications.


FRAMEWORKS FOR PHP

Laravel: Is a popular framework that provides expressive syntax and a rich feature set for web and backend development. Its popularity is related to several factors, such as: community support, documentation, ease of use, performance and availability of third-party libraries and extensions. Additionally, these frameworks often have a large user base, which makes it easier for developers to find resources, tutorials, and solutions to common problems. It also allows access to several types of relational databases, enables scalability, and presents a great community with several important topics, accessible in a click.


ADVANTAGES OF USING FRAMEWORKS

Using a framework offers several benefits to developers. Here is a list of some of them:

Community support can be invaluable when you encounter challenges or need guidance when working with the framework.

6- Security: Frameworks generally address common security vulnerabilities and provide built-in measures to protect against attacks such as cross-site scripting (XSS), cross-site request forgery (CSRF) and SQL injection. 7- Ecosystem and third-party integrations: frameworks often have a wide variety of extensions, plug-ins and libraries created by the community. Leveraging the existing ecosystem can save time and effort in implementing complex features.

While using a framework offers many advantages, it is essential to choose the right framework for your project based on your specific requirements and the experience of your development team. Additionally, some projects may have unique requirements that may not fit well within the constraints of a particular framework. In these cases, a custom solution or less opinionated framework may be more suitable.

Mobile Apps: Frameworks are available for building mobile apps for both iOS and Android platforms. These frameworks often leverage web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create cross-platform mobile apps that can be deployed across multiple platforms using a single codebase.

APIs development: Frameworks are used to develop APIs that allow applications to communicate and share data with each other. These frameworks provide features for handling requests, routing, data serialization, authentication, and security.

Desktop Apps: Frameworks are available to develop desktop apps on different platforms. These frameworks provide a set of tools and libraries for creating graphical user interfaces (GUIs), handling user interactions, and performing various tasks associated with desktop applications.

Game Development: Frameworks designed for game development provide game engines, physics simulation, rendering capabilities, and other tools needed to create games. These frameworks often include features to handle graphics, audio, input, and game logic.

Data analysis and machine learning: frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch and scikit-learn are widely used in data and machine analysis applications learning. They provide a high-level interface, optimized algorithms, and computational resources for working with large datasets, training machine models learning and perform data analysis tasks.

Internet of Things (IoT): Frameworks are used in the development of applications for IoT devices, including home automation systems, smart sensors, and industrial automation. These frameworks provide the necessary connectivity, data management, and control capabilities for building IoT applications.

As mentioned earlier, it's important to note that choosing a framework depends on the specific requirements of your application, the programming language you are using, and the experience of your development team. Different frameworks excel in different areas, so it's crucial to evaluate and select the one that best fits your needs.
